💨 Abstract
A 20-year-old, Rudolph Hufke, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of Stellenbosch University student Jesse Mitchell and the robbery of another student, Sikho Matimba. The court described the attack as "especially brutal and callous," with little chance of rehabilitation. Hufke and an accomplice targeted vulnerable victims, including stabbing Mitchell on his 19th birthday. DNA and fingerprint evidence linked him to the crime.
