đź’¨ Abstract
The Whale Trail in De Hoop Nature Reserve, Cape Overberg, has undergone upgrades in preparation for the whale watching season, which peaks in June. The 55km coastal hiking trail received enhancements including repainted huts, bathroom upgrades, and structural improvements to visitor facilities. These changes were made to address visitor concerns about maintenance and futureproof the trail's infrastructure. Further upgrades are planned for May 2026.
