American climber Alex Honnold successfully free-soloed Taipei 101, Taiwan's tallest building, without ropes or safety gear. The climb, broadcast live on Netflix, took about an hour and a half. Honnold, known for his 2017 free solo of Yosemite's El Capitan, expressed his joy in achieving this long-held dream. The event drew hundreds of spectators and was praised by Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te.
