💨 Abstract

President Cyril Ramaphosa and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the return of 17 South Africans fighting in Ukraine. The men were reportedly lured to Russia under false pretenses. Both leaders supported diplomatic efforts to end the conflict and strengthen economic ties. Ramaphosa reaffirmed South Africa's stance on resolving wars through dialogue, while Putin outlined Russia's commitment to a diplomatic solution. They also discussed cooperation within multilateral forums like BRICS and the G20.
