Deya, who rose to prominence in the 1990s, was infamous for his "miracle baby" claims and faced legal troubles over alleged child theft. He was acquitted of related charges in 2023. Deya had moved to the UK, where he led his ministries in several cities, before returning to Kenya to face allegations.
